For your consultation/first session, shave the treatment area but leave a small patch of hair untouched so your laser specialists can evaluate your hair type.

For all follow-up sessions, come with your treatment area shaved so the laser can target the follicles more effectively.

Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning beds or lotions leading up to your reservation.

On the day of your reservation, avoid all skin care products including makeup, oils or lotions on the area.

Depending on the area, most treatments last 15-30 minutes.

Your laser specialist will perform a few
pulses so you can get used to the sensation.

The laser specialist will adjust the intensity as needed. Don’t be afraid to speak up if you feel discomfort.

Apply aloe or a cool compress to soothe any temporary discomfort.

Avoid the gym, hot tubs, sauna, and sweating 24-48 hours after treatment.

Don’t tweeze or use depilatory creams in between sessions. Shaving is best to remove hair in between sessions.

Apply sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30 to protect your skin.

Is laser hair removal safe?

Yes! Laser hair removal is a safe, proven, and effective method for getting rid of unwanted hair. Our laser hair removal services are safe for all skin types. Our experts are trained, licensed professionals who utilize FDA-approved, state-of-the-art laser systems to remove hair safely.

Will laser hair removal work on my hair/skin type?

While individuals with darker hair and lighter skin typically experience the most drastic results, our advanced laser technology is designed to be effective on a wide rangeof hair and skin types.

Guests with very light blonde, red, or gray hair may opt for waxing as their preferred hair removal method. If you’re at all curious about whether laser hair removal is for you, we encourage you to book a free consultation. Our experts will always provide an honest assessment to ensure you get the best results. If you aren’t a good candidate for laser and would be better suited for waxing, they’ll let you know!

What are some reasons I can't get laser hair removal?

For your safety, our experts won’t perform laser treatments under the following circumstances:

1. You are pregnant.
2. Last dose of Accutane has been within 6 months.
3. Excessive sun exposure for 2 weeks pre-treatment and post treatment.
4. Waxing, tweezing, or using depilatory creams within 2 weeks prior to treatment (shaving is okay after your first laser session).
5. Last application of retinol or more specifically Retin-A within 2 weeks.
6. Cannot laser over any open wound.
7. Cannot laser over tattoos but can laser around them.
8. During your free consultation, your laser specialist will help determine if laser hair removal is right for you.

How long does laser hair removal last? Is it permanent?

Laser hair removal is not 100% permanent but does provide long-term hair reduction. Most people who receive laser hair removal treatment enjoy long-lasting results with incredibly minimal hair growth, while others may not experience any hair growth at all after their initial treatments. It all depends on your individual hair type.

Some guests will require future touch-ups to remain totally smooth, and certain events such as pregnancy or other hormonal changes can trigger hair re-growth.

Are there areas where I CAN’T get laser hair removal?

While we offer a full range of laser hair removal services, including between eyebrows, we do NOT recommend laser hair removal to shape eyebrows because of the precise nature of this service. For brow shaping, we recommend a wax with one of our Wax Specialists, who will use our exclusive Comfort Wax® to give you brows that wow and enhance your unique facial features.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Laser hair removal is less painful than other long-term hair removal options. During your laser treatments, you may experience a mild sensation that is often compared to a rubber band snap or a warm, prickly feeling.

To ensure the most comfortable experience possible, our experts use a unique DCD™ cooling system during treatment. During our free consultation, we can try a ‘test patch’, so you know what to expect before you buy a package.

How do I prepare for my reservation?

For your consultation and/or your first treatment, shave the treatment area but leave a patch of hair so your laser specialist can evaluate your hair type. For all follow-up reservations, shave the entire treatment area 24-48 hours before your reservation. This way, the follicles can be targeted more
effectively.

Be sure to avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning beds or lotions leading up to your reservation, otherwise, we may not be able to treat you.

On the day of your reservation, avoid using any skin care products including makeup, oils or lotions on the treatment area.

You should arrived shaved, leaving a small area untouched for the laser specialist to evaluate the hair.

How many sessions for laser hair removal?

For best results, our experts recommend at least 6 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart. During your consultation, your laser specialist can recommend the package that best fits your individual needs.

The length of each individual session will vary based on the size of the treatment area. Generally, each session lasts 15 to 30 minutes—perfect for fitting seamlessly into your busy schedule.

When will I start to notice results?

After even just the first session, many guests notice a thinning of the hair or a decrease in hair growth rate. Most guests see significant hair reduction by the third session with results improving after each visit.

With each session, you'll see a more significant reduction in the amount of hair and an overall improvement in the smoothness of the treated area.

What does laser hair removal aftercare include?

Congrats, you’re on your way to smoother, carefree days! Aftercare for laser hair removal is simple. Here are a few tips to follow post-treatment for maximum hair reduction:

Apply a cool compress to soothe any temporary discomfort
Avoid the gym, hot tubs, sauna, and sweating 48 hours after treatment
Avoid harsh scrubs, exfoliants, and abrasive skincare products
Apply sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30 to protect your skin
Don’t tweeze or use depilatory creams in between sessions

I purchased a laser package—where can I redeem my services?

Our laser packages are non-transferable and can only be used at the center where they were purchased. This will allow your laser specialist to track your progress and provide greater continuity throughout your treatments while ensuring your journey is personalized and ends with beautiful, smooth results.

What is your refund policy for Laser Passes?

You may cancel your Laser Pass under the following conditions at any time unless otherwise prohibited by applicable law:

If you cancel your Laser Pass, you will receive a refund in the form of store credit equal to the amount of unused services remaining on your pass. You will receive a refund for each remaining service at its original, undiscounted price, based on the pricing in effect when the service was used. In addition, you will be charged a $25.00 cancellation fee.

You may cancel your Laser Pass by contacting the European Wax Center location from which it was originally published.
